Tuning questions for 59# longbow

Hey guys I've been tuning up some arrows for my wolverine and I am a bit stumped. I have some heritage 250s cut to around 31 inches or so. Out of my 55# grizzly the arrows shot just a tad weak with 145 grain points but with fletching should be about perfect. I shot these out of my 59# wolverine longbow and it shoots 2-3 inches to the left at 15-20 yards, indicating a stiff spine. How can a heavier draw bow be weaker than a less poundage bow ? Is it because of the difference in distance to center cut between the two ? My question is how much weight will I have to add to bring my POI over 2-3 inches ? I don't really want to shoot full length arrows but I guess that is also a possibility. I tried some 150s out of the wolverine and while they were just a tad weak they shot closer to center than the 250s did. Really stumping me. Thanks for any advise, SS.

Yes, it is due to how far from center the two bows are cut..  The longbow is cut farther FROM center while the recurve is cut closer to center allowing the use of a stiffer arrow. The longbow will require a weaker arrow, however you accomplish it.. Sounds like you know how !

If an arrow shoots a little weak you can make the side plate a little thicker to compensate.

I had a Wolverine 55@28 , i draw right at 28, and shot CE Hertiage 250s. 10-strand sbd with small puffs. The arrows were cut to 30.5" with 100gn brass insert and 150gn tips, crowned, with 3 five inch feathers. Flew like darts.  It had a beaver tail strike plate that was really thin and these arrows were too weak but I switched it with seal skin and due to the leather hide, it moved the arrow further from center and they were perfect. Sounds like you are close and I wouldn't move down to the 150s due to the loss of weight.  I bet you could move up in tip weight and find a winner. Hope that helps. Best wishes

A heaver bow will take a stiffer arrow in general. Center cut is critical.  A heavier bow could easily shoot a light spine arrow than a lighter bow due to center cut.  Are you left or right handed?

When you say shooting left are you shooting bare shafts and fletched shafts or is the POI of the two bows a little different?  Shooting a different POI can be a lot of stuff other than arrow spine.  Even grip difference could cause you to shoot off.

I don't know the center cut of you two bows, but one thing that can happen with bows with similar performance and center cut is that the arrow is too stiff in general.  So stiff the lighter bow shows faulse weak.  The heavier bow shows true stiff.
