3D targets from a hunters point of view

I guess I am in the  minority here but I think that if I hit in a 3d 10 ring that would kill a real deer. I think it would put a hole in the lungs.

If you can pick a spot and hit it, then you can pick a spot and hit it, period. I shoot for the center of the 10 ring at 3d shoots, I'm shooting to win. My concern is most guys that shoot traditional equipment think that pie plate good at 15 yards is accurate, not in my book. If that was the best I could do I would never, and I do mean never think about hunting an animal. I am a bowhunter first but I also love the competition and fellowship at the 3d shoots and I see no negative effect whatsoever from shooting them, I personally think they do nothing but make you a better shot at game because it is realistic, and like I said if you can pick a spot and hit it, then you only need to pick that spot on the animal you hunt.If your not sure where that is study the anatomy of the game you pursue, don't blame it on the 3d targets, learn your craft, it's not supposed to be easy

I figured out that 3D is less about hunting and more about target archery, so for actual shoots I shoot for the score, but the 3D targets in my backyard we practice for hunting with kill shots.

I don't keep score when I golf either. I don't seem to get so mad at my clubs that way.      

Same here except I don't golf anymore. I have another hobby that pretty much consumes all my disposable income. Care to guess what it is?
