"The Tireless Hunter!"

Up in the morning, I'm at it again
Grab a bite to eat on the fly
Load all my gear
With a spritely cheer
Then I'm off in the blink of an eye

Down the road I go, I motor alone
To my selected hunting ground
Then I arrive
Feeling alive
Unload without a sound

Let eyes adjust to the early dark
On the horizon a touch of grey
Step down the trail
Only time will tell
If this will be my day

Up the tall pine tree to my hanging stand
I settle in for the wait
Will a black tail deer
In my site appear
For me to seal his fate?

It's a lovely game of cat and mouse
A hunter and his prey
Each know the wind
And hope at trails end
To have triumphed over this day

But, the paths of each do not cross
The day and time fly by
So back to the truck
And with better luck
Tomorrow, I'll give it another try......TW
