How many of you use them on carbons? I've been gluing my gold tip nocks in but if you break one it's almost impossible to get it out. I figured the nock adapter would also protect the nock   end of my arrow.

I use them in CX 150's and like them, they are just  a hair loose in a GT trad. I use a couple thicknesses of saran wrap and push the adapter into the shaft and snugs it right up, no glue needed. I like them 'cause I can use the same nock as I use on my wood arrows.

I use them. They are great. With them I can use bohning classic nocks, my favorite nock. I don't think I will ever want to use a carbon arrow with the press-in nocks as long as I can get nock adapters.

tried not glueig in the nocks?

or use the plastic bag trick? (put nock in bag, push in, trim excess)

Stone Knife

I use them for my new Bear Grizzly because the standard nocks are too small. I like them a lot.

I use them on the GT's if I need to add nock weight, but not otherwise. I find that GT nocks hold fine when just pressed into the shafts. The GT nocks come in two sizes: a long to be pressed into the shaft, and a short to be used with the adapter.

I tried them on my GT's and found them to be worthless for my needs. Changed the whole dynamics of the arrow.
I have never felt the need to glue nocks in, if I hit something that hard and it pops out, put it back in.
Never wait too long!

Wow the saran wrap works great!

I have not used them so far but I am thinking about trying them for my AD shafts.

I hardly ever shoot carbons without them....they are worth every cent they cost and the extra steps when building arrows!

The plastic thing may be fine for keeping them snug and all, but won't protect the back of the arrow like epoxying them in on a hard impact.

When shooting heavy, high performing bows bows and stumping a lot in the NE like I do...rocks, frozen stumps, The Muzzy Shoot, etc... are all ultimate tests for arrow toughness!

I foot the point end of all my stumping arrows, and that protects and makes that end about bomb proof....but....the nock end is the weak link as all the energy is sent through the shaft.....push in nocks will blow right out and the back end of the arrow will get hairline fractures. Rendering them useless unless you can cut them down and still stay tuned.

I'm sure with the adapters only pushed in with the plastic holding them, the same thing will happen....nothing bonding it to the shaft...hence ,no protection....

Now, when you epoxy the nock adapters in with a high quality, slow set epoxy(I use JB Weld)...you have a extremely strong bond that basically acts as an external footing, holding everything together.

In three years I've yet to blow an adapter out, hence have not lost an arrow to a back end fracture.

On a hard impact the worse that happens is you blow the easily replaceable glue-on nock off.

Glue one back on and your good to go.

I highly recommend you epoxy them in

These are the one's I use...
