Went to dinner last evening with fellow TradGanger (reads more than posts), Tom "phrogdrvr" Brannan. As always it was a great experience to meet another TGer with like interests. Tom won the Original Irish Whistle I put up in the St. Jude auction recently. He was down here on a Conference duty and got in touch with me. It was extra great because we have a number of mutual interests. He is also a Marine (pilot), loves Trad bows, interested in self bows, loves music and stringed instruments, Likes Irish music (gotta be Irish with his name), etc, etc.  (did I mention he's a MARINE serving our beloved country). He has to attend a conference here every three months and had already met Don "batman" Batten last time he was down (did some enjoyable eating with Don and some "pickin' n' grinnin')He says, Hey, Don!". Next time Tom is down this way, we plan to get together at my place for a little shooting (of targets and more of the proverbial bull). We met in New Bern and enjoyed a very good, and pleasant, meal at the Twin Rivers Mall, Annabelle's Restaurant, where Tom was able to get his favorite Southern dish, Shrimp 'n Grits. Don turned him on to that delectable - LOL Then we got warned (tongue-in-cheek) by a fellow customer about no loitering in the parking lot (still chewing the fat) and judged it best to call it an evening.

As always - great to meet another Trad Ganger, St. Jude supporter, (and did I mention Marine). Don't miss a chance if you get one, and can help it. Thanks for dinner and "the meet", Tom.    :campfire:

I could not agree more Bernie.

I had a visit with a fellow tradganger this week.(Bob B)

We had a great time! Shot a bunch of bows and bull.

There wasn't even a hint of an awkward moment at any time, it was if we had been pals forever.

I would advise...never miss an opportunity.

God bless,Mudd

Glad you guys had a great time, Bernie!!!!!

However, this does not suprize me.....

As Brother Mudd said,"as if we'd been pals forever!"

I started here years ago, going to shoots, meeting new people... Went to the JLMBH for years!!! Every year, Kenny(adkmountainken) has a bunch of the Gang up to his mom's house for a weekend. Same "old friends" with some "new faces"... Always ends up being "old friends" by the end of the weekend!!!!! Last year, I decided to return the favor... Tyler and I invited a bunch of the Gang to stay at our house to hunt. Unfortunately, we don't have excess to "close" hunting property. Never fear! Brother Nathan(toecutter) volunteered as our "guide" and showed us some GREAT public land he knew of within driving distance. We ate like Kings, hunted, and just plain had a ball!!!!! Everyone took my son Tyler under their wing & he had the time of his life, for his first "Deer Camp" with the Gang!!!!! I'm sure it will be a fond memory forever!!!!! He has already "told me" that we ARE doing it again, this year!!!

I have met nothing but "good people" here on TradGang, who very soon became Good Friends!!!!! My door will always be open, to any TradGanger, who wants to visit or needs a place to stay...

After all, TradGang... Is a FAMILY!!!!!
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

There is a fine line between Hunting, & Sitting there looking Stupid...

May The Great Spirit Guide Your Arrows..... Happy Hunting!!!

Bernie,

Just got in the door, back in PA.  I should say the pleasure was all mine.  Thanks for driving all that way to meet me for dinner.

Looking forward to the next time, hopefully Don can make it too.

I agree with you, in that every Tradganger I've met has been a salt of the Earth person.

Tom is the most traditional person I ever met. He is a regular in our shop and I consider him a good friend and they don't come any better. Did I mention he is a bow collector  :)

The folks here on tradgang are just plain special folks.  I have made a lot of dear friends on this site, had so many questions answered, etc.

So, I wanted to meet Mudd after all our emails, phone calls, etc and I just asked if he would mind my stopping over.  Well, we shot bows for a good while, shared a few meals and just hung out.  I so enjoyed meeting him and am so humbled he offered his time ad home to me. So Bernie, I really get what you meant in your post.  There are such great people here, this is such an awesome site to meet great people who share a common passion.

I am hoping to see a few tradgang members, some are old friends and I hope to meet some new ones as well today.

I pray that whomever I meet that they will also see "my Christ" within me.

I'm heading over to Marshall Mo for the 15th or 16th annual MoBoJam.

God bless,Mudd
