Just started messing with natural turkey feathers.  Are they louder in flight then commercial feathers?  For some reason they seem louder to me.

I think the height of a feather has more to do with noise.I've shot Tru-flight feathers and shot natural turkey barred feathers.I didn't notice any increase in noise. The height of either made the difference in noise.

They do not seen loud to me. They do seem to last about 10x longer and stay in new condition for a very long time. I have not found any negative aspects of using wild turkey feathers.

Biathlonman

I'm cutting both on the same chopper so I don't think that's it...

Secondary feathers(softer ones) seem to be a little bit.

I always thought the turkey and goose feathers I grind and use are louder at first than the processed ones.
I also think they get quieter after use.
They are more water proof with the natural oils etc not messed with and a little stiffer in my opinion.
