Its all good! this is not the result of a bad accident but in fact the stains from one of natures endless bounties......raspberries!
As lovers of the outdoors and hunting, how can one not take advantage of the wonderful bounty that nature has to offer such as morels, berries, walnuts, ETC. in our off seasons.
As of this evening weve picked approx. 5 gallons of sweet raspberries, im thinking that following a mess of pan fried squirrel ,gravy and buiscuits, raspberry pie should do just fine.
Even though we have nothing in season as of now, dont overlook the other wonderful bounties that nature has to offer.   :campfire:   [/IMG]

Now you're talkin, bet the squirrel's are in the mulberries.

Blackberries will soon be ripe.  We picked a few gallons of figs Sunday at the in laws.

I may be a fairly busy man, but I do take time to get enough preserves to make blackberry or fig tarts through the year.  A tart and some COLD milk is one of life's little pleasures for sure

Harvesting game is just a sample of what nature has to offer.
Although it takes a bit of work "and sometimes chiggers" to collect and prepare the other wonderful treats, its well worth it when your efforts come to fruition in the making of great dishes fresh from nature.

There is a place for all God's creatures....right next to the potatoes and gravy.

We picked a couple gallons of blueberries this weekend. Wife made cobbler and put up the rest. Some blackberries would be good too. I actually prefer blackberries but the wife dislikes the seeds.
