Any of you fellas build ground blinds with rolled hog wire?  I'm trying to get up to the farm and build some good ground blinds that are big enough for 2 people to sit in.

If you've got any ideas or pictures I would appreciate your input.

I don't have any pics of it but I have one built out of the cheaper 4" square field wire.  I stake it with a t post, then wrap it around into a circle, but leave a gap big enough to walk in and out of.  I usually brush it in every 2 years with cedar saplings, then cut shooting gaps in it.

Thanks for the link, that is exactly what I'd like to do.  You really documented that well.

I make mine out of on 16' hog panel and froame the roof just like in TxAg's pics. We use the plastic grass carpet from HD for the siding.

I can only take credit for digging up the old thread  :)

I had no part in the design or construction but kudos to the builder Blue Tick.

Anybody have a good way to keep the snakes, spiders, and other critters out?

I have 3 of these blinds, 1 of a different version, and one pit blind on my 300ac lease in S TX and have never found a snake in any of them. I always look when getting in but, to date, none have been found. All of these blinds have been in place for lots of years.

Come to Minnesota in November/ December....

Just kidding, that is a good question, I always wondered what kind of creatures would find comfort in such a comfortable blind...
