What does your set up weigh?

I was just shooting my sons bear grizzly puttzing with brace height to take some of the hand shock out. So I was shooting for a while grouping descent having fun. So Getting a little tired of the hand shock I decided to Finnish my shooting session with my bob lee to enjoy some dead in the hand shooting when I put the bear back on the rack and grabbed the lee holy cow pie was that thing heavy! I got so use to the bear I could  not believe how heavy my light recurve weighed. So I pulled out the meat scale.  Set the bear on it 1.75 lbs.  put the lee on there with full quiver. 4.25.lbs.
I guess I don't know my point of this thread

How much does the quiver without arrows weigh? How much does the Bob Lee weigh by itself? This is an interesting subject. I will weigh mine later.

Never weighed my widow PSA I would assume a little over 3 lbs.  I don't shoot a bow quiver as it just seems to heavy and not balanced like a bare bow is.

Never weighed my Hills, but they all feel very light and easy in my hand.

Most will tell you they like a bit of heft to their bows for the feel and stability. I understand that, but really like the light feel of a longbow or a 50's style recurve. Just a joy to carry all day in the mountains or on a 3-D course. I never have checked out any of mine.......

I have yet to see any trad bow designed for hunting that weighs as much as a tricked out compound bow designed for hunting, so just shoot whatever one you like the best.

I have one metal risered ILF bow I use out of tree stands or blinds that is heavier but never weighed it. I have another ILF bow lighter that I use small game hunting when I have to carry it around all day.

All woods have a different density. Obviously different weights. I had a bob lee special edition something or other. The riser was a solid piece of bubinga. Probably in the 4 lb range but a 3 PC long bow. A kanati or a shrew with a small ish riser and a lot of limb weighs practically nothing. I have to add a quiver to them to give them some weight to make them stable but I would guess on average most 3 PC recurves or longbows. Will be in the 3-4 lb range.riser style make a big difference.
Maybe randy will chyme in and tell you how much his ebony/coco stalker weighs.    :eek:

My recurves are three piece heavy risered bows that I put 5-arrow Selways on... Don't know what they weigh off hand but definitely heavy for a recurve...

Now my longbows, I like them bare, and 1 or 2 piece bows and my Arrowmaster over my shoulder... Light!

If I'm walking, longbow in hand usually...  If I'm sitting in a stand I like to use the recurves... but have used longbows almost 100% of the time over the last few years... But, I've recently been re-infatuated with the recurves again so all bets are off... ;-)

My 3 piece Kota with full EFA bow quiver weighed 2 pounds with me standing on the bath room scales.So less than 3 pounds, and thats the heaviest bow I own.Most of my long bows weigh 1 to 1 1/2 pounds.I like light physical weight bows and a steady bow arm.practice,practice,practice!

Bob lee weighs 3.25 without quiver. The quiver without arrows around .5 lb and the arrows alone  .5lbs. Or 8oz. Each.
