I have two bows, First Holly Spirit 64" 55# @28"

Second a Liberty edge 62" 47# @ 28".  The Spirit is silent.  The Liberty is considerably louder.  Both bows shoot well.  I Shoot hammer heads out of the spirit and GT out of the liberty but have swapped just to see if it makes a difference and it does not. I have tried different brace heights on Liberty but still noticeably louder.
Any Ideas

If it's ok for fast flight strings, try a skinny padded loop string. I like the Ultra Cam material.

Yes, some bows are more quiet...for any number of reasons.  Mess around with your brace height.  If you can, adjust your brace height with the string un-silenced.  Find the best height for quietness and good arrow flight, then silence.  Also, heavier arrows will extract more energy from your limbs, quieting your bow.  Lots more tricks to employ as well.

Good luck.

I increase brace height until the bow quiets.  And you might experiment with location of your silencers.

That being said, I agree that some bows are quieter than others.  I shot all five of the bows I own this morning.  My Leon Stewart three-piece Slammer, Cari-bow Peregrine, and Bigfoot Obsidian were all extremely quiet with no hand shock whatsoever.

Good luck.

Yes definitely.  My 3pc Slammer is one of the quietest I've ever shot, and at a range of brace heights.  Generally from my experience the range from loudest to quietest is: recurve, static recurve, r/d longbow, Hill bow, selfbow.  I have a little 40# osage selfbow with wool puffs and a Dacron string and it puts any other bow I've shot to shame in the quietness department.  No thump no nothing, just the string slipping my fingers and the arrow flying along.  It's crazy.

Absolutly. I have hade a few that i could not get quiet at all. Others that seem to need no help getting quiet.
