I took a quick trip up to camp with my daughters to open things up and do a little shooting. Maybe look for sign if we had time. We turned the corner toward our drive and there's a hen near where I've seen a couple big toms over the last few years on some public land I hunt for deer. There used to be 4, then 3, now I only ever see the 2. Not today, though...

Here's a bad pic of the hen we saw. She's in the center:

We got to camp and the girls tore off toward the ponds and river like always...

I took a minute to check out a blind I slapped together above a bench that gets traffic from deer and turkeys through the property, I have a comfy seat in there. I haven't killed from it, but it's nice to watch the sun come up with the mist from the river.

Level shot:

Turkey's view from the bench, I'll probably try it a couple times this season if I wear myself out like I usually do:

I took a few warm-up shots before setting out my mini 3D course for the year, not too shabby I guess since I haven't shot much lately. Still have until May 10th or so to buckle down.

I better start on the other side of this target, more spots to pick...

Looks like a great way to spend the day.  Good luck!
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Here's a look at the ammo, Ace and Wolverine heads on some footed cedars:

Here's a couple views from the blind, North ridge:

Here's some pics of my 3D set-up, one of these days I'll buy some "real" foam turkeys...

Here's my 30 yard deer, I shot at it from around 17:

Next shot from there to a foam filled cheapie deke, around 13 yards:

Next shot 18 yards from the first turkey:

Gotta run for now, good luck this year and thanks for looking!
