A few weeks ago at our archery club's first shoot Mike Vines and his family came down to shoot. I was able to meet up and shoot the course with them. It was a great time to say the least!

I've been shooting carbons since I started shooting traditional archery (about a year) and had the itch to shoot woods here and there but never really pursued it. Well, I just switched to a lighter weight bow and try as I might, I could not get my arrows to tune for me. It was frustrating to say the least. A buddy's arrows shot well out of my bow so I was actually shooting one of his arrows through the course. Mike was shooting the same poundage bow as I was and offered to let me try one of his arrows. They flew like a dream! I couldn't ask for a better arrow flight! Well, at the end of the shoot he gave me the four arrows out of his quiver and told me that if I wanted to shoot some more wood arrows to just have the shafts sent to him and he would finish them up for me! What a guy!!! Well, fast forward a couple weeks and look what showed up on my door!

These are gorgeous! I'm really excited to fletch them up and get to shooting. I'm going to use some natural turkey feathers from magnus that are dyed blue. The should look great!

Very nice good woodies are hard to beat

Thank you for the kind words Shane.  As soon as you shot that first arrow, I knew right then you were going to make the switch (the look on your face said it all).  I didn't want you rethinking yourself, that's why I sent you home with my Hawaii arrows.  Enjoy these, I had fun making them for you.

I now realize that I have a problem...Other people are ordering Surewood Shafts and sending them to me.  It does give me a chance to try out some new ideas doing it that way though.

See you at the Spring Shoot,

Not a chance Ryan.  Having a website means I would have another job, and I hate working.  I prefer to keep doing it for fun.

Well, unfortunately I had the natural turkey feathers shipped to my old address in Montana. That sucked! Lol But a buddy lhbandito22 hooked me up with some blue barred truflight feathers and the fletching began!

Unfortunately, I only have one jig. Doing 4 fletch and leaving each feather on there for ~15 minutes meant each arrow took about an hour. Not a big deal, I got them done! I think they turned out alright
