Hoyt Dorado

Do you guys on here that have Hoyt Dorados love them?  I am looking for a take down.  I shot Hoyt compounds for years befor I switched to trad, and Hoyt as always made a good bow in my opinion.  I am just not sure about their recurves since I have never shot one.  Thanks.

I have two. They are great bows! I have Hoyt FX limbs on one and its noticeably a better shooter than the stock limbs! The riser is awesome and bombproof! I like mine!!!!

I love my Dorado. It shoots hard and there are a bunch of options with limbs. Great bow!!!

Ditto what the others said. I have Black Max mediums on mine and they are smooth and fast. Great shooting combo. Very easy to convert any ILF limb to the Hoyt riser. I did have to sand the ends of the BM limbs just a smidge to get perfect fit. No problem though.

Love mine!  Got it not too long ago and I was accurate with it right away.  I've got the Realtree edition with a wood grip and its just a bad to the bone looking bow that shoots.  Fastflight string, some limbsavers and puffballs and its whisper quiet except for the thwack of an arrow hitting its mark.  Great for a factory bow that's for sure.  One bow I will not let go of.

The Dorado riser is a very solid platform. I have one with a set of long, high end carbon foam ILF limbs (converted to fit the Dorado) that I like so much, that I have sold all my other bows.

I have no first hand experience with them, but i have read that the stock Dorado limbs tend to run heavier than marked(+3-4lbs), and stack badly for archers with longer than average draw lengths. If DL is 28" or less stock limbs should be fine.

I had no problem with stock limbs on mine--weight as marked and no stack at 29" draw.

I like my Dorado ok, but I shoot much better with my hoyt GM 2 and I'm not sure why (this is even when using medium length limbs on the dorado to get a 62 inch bow). The Dorado seems quite a bit slower than the GM 2 as well but has a smoother draw cycle.

I've had 4 or 5 Hoyt recurves and all have been great shooters.

I have owned both the dorado and gamemaster. Both great bows, i just dig wood bows more. The gamemaster looks very cool. I dont think you can go wrong with either. Good luck.

I have both dorados and buffaloes and I really like both of them.

one at 60" the other at 62"

I have a hoyt desperado, and a tiburon. I can shoot these bows better than any bow I've owned and there have been many over the years! Hoyt makes an awesome bow!

Got to chime in as well. Have owned 2 Dorado's and still have one and I can't help but love it. I have never been able to shoot shorter bows with my 30" draw. I could never get good flight.....string torque of some kind. But I cant shoot bare shafts at 20m no issues with my Dorado. If owned a tone of custom bows and still own a few but again I can't say enough about how much I love my Dorado.
