hi, I am new here, but really like it. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Zepher sasquatch 4 blade broadheads ? I have some but the bleeders seem kinda cheesey the way they atatch---or dont really attatch at all, any suggestions?

Cyclic-Rivers

Hello Gary.

I have heard of people just using the heads without the bleeders and killing just fine with them.

Curious where you are from?  My family has a farm in Viola.

Thanks for the reply, Ive heard I dont need the bleeders, but in my mind A 2 blade wont work as well as a 4, not trying to start a war. This is just my own thought, havent had alot of experience with 2 blades. What purpose do the bleeders play then ? And im from south ccentral Wisconsin, about 50 min south of the capitol city, Madison. All my hunting is done in Vernon county, a small ways away from the famed Buffalo county.......Gary

Gary,  Our farm is in Vernon county about an hour from Mad town and 18 miles from richland center.

If you are using the zephyrs for deer and want to use the bleeders have at it.  I have heard of some people using epoxy or jb weld.  The idea is to have the extra blades to create a better wound channel and hopefully a better blood trail.

There have been oodles of arguments about which broad head is better. (2, 3 and 4 blade)  Everyone ends in someone saying to put a sharp broad head into the vitals.  It really comes down to personal preference (especially on deer)

There was a recent thread on here about the same heads. There is  a search function you can use underneath the advertisement banners and immediately under post a poll button.  You will find that function extremely useful.

Welcome to trad gang.  IMHO you will not find a better place to hang out at.

I haven't hunted with the Sasquatch heads although I recently bought some mine are 2 blade only. I am normaly like you and prefere multiple blade heads. But the Sasquatch heads are HUGE. I don't think there is a need for the bleeders with this big of a head.

I'm probably in one of the supplied links, but have hunted with the Sasquatch they are a killin head for sure, sharpen good and mount/fly great BUT I have had durability issues with em. I was told I was probably getting them to hot mounting em, so I used epoxy and still had a couple where the main blade broke loose from the furrel (sp).

The only one I have ever used broke. I shot a coon with one and it went thru the coon and into the ground where the ferrule broke in two. Could have been a freak thing but I just went back to my tried and true broadheads after that.

Well Im new to trad so I am not much help here, shot compound for 20 years usin muzzy 3 blades and 3 blade mechanical broadheads.  But now Im rockin old school and lovin it.  I settled on usin the Zwickey Eskalite which are 2 blade.  In my opinion it all comes down to your shot placement.  Pick a spot, aim, breath, and release, then just fill the freezer.  Happy huntin!

I used them for years, but never used the bleeders. Never liked bleeder blades in any heads.

Don't use the bleeders. You don't need them.

Good heads.

If you don't like the small bleeders supplied with the Sasquatch then try Magnus bleeders-either the square shoulder or the sloped shoulder.
The Zephyrs that are breaking are the ones made by Horne's archery and you should contact them and let them know. The original Zephyrs made by Brad Winger would never break...period.

raghorn, are all the current ones from Hornes?  I did contact them after the spot welds on the main blade broke loose on a couple heads, i was told i was getting them to hot mounting them, so i used epoxy and had the same thing happen.. i love the design and they are precision made, mount and fly well and sharpen great, and are a killin head ! i would use them in a heart beat but I just worry about a head that might come apart..
