Longbow length

I have 63" stotler longbow and was looking to purchase another longbow of a different manufacture. My question is would I be better off with a 62" or 64".  48# @ 28" I realize the clearance for ground blind/ tree stand. Is there a performance difference along with other advantages or disadvantages?  Thanks

I build a lot of longbows and 62" NtN seems to be the magic number for your draw 28".

I have two Bama R/D Expis, and 62in 47@28 and a 53@28 64in! The 62 is my favorite for hunting easy to manuever in any situation! I draw 29.5!

as well as your draw length, lots will depend on the longbow's design and build.

I have had a bunch of 62" longbows and with my 29" draw have never had an issue. That being said at 64" I find I like the shooting "feel" much better. 1 inch on either end is not really an issue in a blind or a tree stand, just make sure you check it all out first!

depending on the type of longbow, and its inherent design and materials, a 29" draw length can be well accommodated by a hybrid as short as 56".  there are MANY dependencies.  know what they all are before plunking down cash for bow or putting in an build order with yer bowyer.

"Longbow" is a term that is used to define various styles, from selfbows to Hill style to mild reflex/deflex to to more extreme r/d. I had a Big Jim Thunderchild that was 54" and accommodated my 28 inch draw just fine, and I have a 64" Hill that is right on the edge for my draw. As Rob said, get some more information on types of bows and how they relate to draw length before you make your decision. Big difference in styles and shooting characteristics.

always talk to yer bowyer or bow company for their advice on draw lengths for their bow models.

Black widow catalog has a chart for recommended limb length based on draw length

I seem to like the 68-70 inch bows. They seem easier to pull and my draw is 28.

62 to 64" widow will be fine 64" are my favorite smoother but 62" widows are shooters!

I draw 28" and I find the 62" PLX to be the perfect balance of speed, easy handling, and Most importantly smooooottthhhh.
