Vintage Quiver Question? (pics)

Recently, Tony Chinn here on TG gave me this quiver.

I call it a "center of back" quiver but not sure that is the correct term????

I wanted to know some history on this type of quiver and possibly what years it was manufactured, used by archers etc.  

Also would love to hear any opinions or stories from those who have used or still use this style of quiver and does yours look the same or not

Check out quivers in 3R they have pics and it looks like a rover of field quiver(ambidextrous). It looks well built. It also looks like the back quivers HH used. It does have some age.I will be looken back to see what others think.

Two straps on either side, it was meant to be worn in the center of the back and could be worn by left handers and right handers.  Enough of them around back in the day, but probably not as popular as those that hung diagonally over the shoulder.  Good quiver though, and some like the arrows to be positioned in the center of the back.

Good info so far and thanks for the link. I think it's probably from the same manufacturer.

Any pics out there of other center of back quivers?

I intend to copy this design to some degree for my own use. Of course a little more primitive looking. I don't care much for the vintage 60's look for some reason.

Looks like a Carlisle. They were made in PA many years ago but went out of business. My wife has a center back quiver a friend of ours made for her. She loves it for 3D shooting. It is out of the way and retrieving arrows from it is easy. Don't know why more of this type is not in the market place.

It looks like the same design as the King back quiver I have. Mine dates back to early 80's. King is part of PSE Archery now. I used mine for 3d mostly. it seems to me this was a popular style back in the 50's and 60's. Try it, you may like the way it carries and the retro look.
