Haven't seen the article but there's a great you tube video that was passed on to me. Pheasant shooting and practice shooting. The guy that made the video is a great shot!

The guys name is Bruce Garahan, I believe. I'm trying to get in contact with him or get some more detailed info and dimensions to build a launcher.

Anyone out there know him. I think he frequents this site.

Thx,
PeteA

Pete, Please post it here or PM me.  I've been looking for that as well.  Years ago (prolly 10 by now) they had it posted in Primitive Archer (I believe)but I have not been able to find it.

That's a great idea! I may have to put one of those "pheasant launchers" together.

I built a target launcher (catapult) last year here on TG.  It was alot of fun, and kept us entertained for hours.  I'm not able to find the thread, but when I do I will post a link to it.  The guy in the video above said I gave him the idea to make a launcher, and he even acknowledged it in the video.  I think it is neat to see people try and succeed.

Can't find my original post on it but the issue number is in this article. My pictures are in there.

The base is pressure treated 2x8 by 45.  The upright is 2x8 by 22.  The throwing arm is 1x4 by 30.  The springs are 8 inches and can be found in big chain hardware stores.  Mike Vines, I also gave you credit in my authors notes in the TBM story but for some reason they omitted them as well as the pic of the launcher.

I'm sure it was to save room and print costs.  I'm glad you had a ball with this, and it gave you some awesome practice to boot.  Was a nicely written article, and My boys and I watched the hunting video at the top of this thread.  Looks like you all put this launcher to good use.  Practice paid off.  I would love to see other guys make their own, and post pics of it on here to motivate others.
