I will say I have been many times to the Black Widow factory and have never noticed their bows to be any louder than any other recurves. I would think your brace height should be around 8.5" with that bow. One thing to consider is was the bow tillered for 3 under or split fingered. This can sometimes make a big difference.

I mean this in no disrespect, but my expierences are far different from what has been stated here.  For that 62 inch bow, unless it is the odd ball, the brace is probably going to be in the 9-9.25 range.  Longer bows off the same general design require a longer brace in my expierence.  Which isn't the gospel, just unbiased.

I like my widow.  I shoot it very well.  It is one of the fastest bows I own.  It is the smoothest bow I own.  It is bulletproof.  It is however, the loudest bow I own.  They all can be quietened to acceptable levels equal to other bows, it just takes a lot of extra tinkering and tricks. Which is why you see these threads.

They make a great bow.  God Bless

i followed some advice and put some plumber tape on locator bolts and that made a noticable difference.  i can actually hear the string now - think i am going to change our yarn with the two track silencers or cat whiskers. Getting closer......

i agree great bows and shoot great, but just much harder to get quiet than a Habu Vyperkahn or some others i own.

I ave a PSAX 53@28. I thought it was kinda noisy. Not real bad, just kinda. Because of where I hunt, I needed brush buttons. I have tried 2 different brands because the first ones wouldn't stay put but would move down towards the fur silencers. The next brand stayed where I wanted and have quieted the bow tremendously. I don't know the brand name but the side that faces the silencers looks like the spokes of a wheel. If you want some and can't find them send me a PM and I'll pick some up for you.

I have a PSAX that is as quiet as any bow I have shot. It did take a little messing with. SDB string with 4 SMALL spider leg silencers. I kept going up in brace height with out good results lowered it and it got quieter. I know  "higher is supposed to be quieter but you may try to see if it helps.

Never had any problems getting one quiet.  I used 12 strands of Dynaflight '97 or 8125 with padded loops, and a little tinkering with the brace height and silencer placement (cat whiskers).

Lots of good stuff about brace height and limb confections. Check all that. Also check O rings. My PCH is now real quiet. I love SBD strings and put them on all my bows, but think I will stay factory for now. I am running 4 Bw spiders, yarn rap, and set of limb savers just on the riser side if the fades. I have had a couple BWs and didn't think I could  get one this quiet with a factory string and silencers. I think it is quiet amd I shoot long bows most of the time.  I am shooting 3 under on a split tiller also. Shooting 30" 3555 GT trad 200 points. 50@29.

7595 way stuff but 5575 will probably work with the right lengthy and point weight. CE150 could be a good option got your weight and length.

Make sure you are not hitting the shelf. You can bounce off there and get noise and decent arrow flight if you are consistent with your shooting.

Mine's not a black widow, but I tried a pair of stiktamers and they work pretty good.

We have had several Black Widow owners to tell us that our (EFA) bow quiver quietened their bow when nothing else seemed to. That may sound a little self serving but it's happened several times. I wouldn't guarantee that our quiver or anyone elses would do that, but I can see where a lightweight quiver might dampen the noise some. I try to use a quiver on my bows because they are convenient, make a lightweight (mass) bow more stable, and maybe just a little quieter.

Is it even possible to get a BW to dead quiet?

AWPForester

That's because alot of the noise comes from the bolts and studs on a widow.  It is possible buy you gotta know what to tinker with.  God Bless
