My longtime friend and mentor just blew me away. He and I were talking the other day and he asked if I had any use for a BP Javelina "target bow". He had it for several years and never used it. Of course I said heck yeah! so I now own a 1969 Javelina 66" 35# @ 28. I will have to get a new string as the old one is coming unraveled at the ends. It was stored unstrung and looks great. I have never shot one but the riser feels awesome with the full pistol grip. I am so blessed to have friends like this and Mr. Vik, you have no idea how much this bow means to me. I can't wait to string it up and fling some arrows. This is the 3rd trad bow I own so next is a bow rack to display them. A dream come true.  :jumper:

Great bow and great to have good friends!

I like the mass of the older bows like the Javalina.  That is what we used to call a "field bow" and will be a roving and stump shooting delight.

Get her back out in the fields and woods.    :archer:

That truly is awesome. Gifting bows to other archers, especially beginning archers is a great tradition. I too enjoy he mass of the older bows. I once had an HP-70 45@28, but delamination took it from me. The grip was amazing and the bow shot very good groups.

By the way: Nothing is free. The cost of the bow for you was in the time it took you to impress your mentor enough to want to give something of his to you. Time well spent.
