Does anyone have any experience with the Shrew Lil Favorite recurve? I've been shooting a 60# @ 28" Martin ML-14 since the late '80s and am ready to bow down some and to upgrade my bow. I'm thinking of going to a recurve and found some pretty good things said about the Shrew bows. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. My other option is Big Jim's Thunder Child.

I can't speak of the lil favorite, but I have a super shrew and it is an absolute joy to shoot. I really like the thumb rest grip and the overall aesthetics of the Shrew line.

Killdeer

I bought one early this year, and it is a fine little bow. Quick to point, fast and quiet. I have not shot a TC, but have many fine bows. This ranks with the best of them.

I've owned them both and I personally prefer the TC.   I love Shrews but for me, the TC is more forgiving with better speed. I also like the extreme R/D of the TC.   It just looks "cool".

Best of luck.

Never shot a shrew, although I want to, but my TC was awesome.

I shot the original prototype of this bow at Shrewhaven Lodge and bagged a nice doe with it my first time out on stand.  It's a handy fast pointing recurve. The Shrew grips are just outstanding and the bow is an excellent performer.  Three different options on bow length so that you can fit most any draw with ease and comfort.

I have an older 56" Shrew recurve #55 @28, not sure who made it.  It is very smooth, plenty fast and has an awesome grip for me.

I am becoming a better shot by shooting this shorter recurve along with my longbows.  I guess it keeps my release more consistent.

I have 54" 51#@27" Lil'Favorite that I really like.  I have killed a 23# Spring Tom turkey and a nice white-tailed buck with it.  I am happy to send you pics if you'd like.  The bow could even be for sale if you further interested.  Yes, I like the bow but I move through bows...have owned many and will own many more, I'm sure.

Longbow to longbow,Shrew vs. Thunderchild, I am a Shrew guy. I have owned a couple of both, for me that Shrew's grip is just so good I shoot better with it. Plus, you can get a Shrew in 62".
No experience with the lil'favorite. But,if you start shooting a longbow,I bet you'll forget about recurves. rat'

The Lil Favorite is possibly the most consistent bow I have ever shot. I was with Ray when we had the prototype in camp, and I ordered my own immediatley. I think I have killed 7 deer with the Lil Fav....it is a GREAT bow.

Wow! Thanks for the great feedback, guys. It certainly is a tough choice, and I guess I'll just have to sleep on it. Again. The Shrew grip is definately something I'd find very appealing, but so is the radical design of th TC. So, since season is over here in Maine on Friday (except for the muzzleloaders), maybe I'll take a little more time to make a decision. Thanks again for the great feedback.  Jeff
Take care,
Jeff
