That was really cool, but how do you keep your fletching dry?

Ak, Dan, Build that SOF qajaq!  It takes quite a bit longer than building a selfbow, but you'll have a handmade custom craft in the end, that weighs half that of a fiberglass sea kayak.  (FYI, from my experience with 2 Greenland qajaqs; if you're building a Greenland roller, my advise is to build it width-of-hips wide and no more, with a snug zero-clearance masik, yet big enough under the foredeck to allow wearing booties instead of bare tootsies.  Might save you from eventually wanting to re-build one, or making a third.)     :saywhat:

"Pretty cool. How long do you anticipate drifting and how are you going to know when you are "there"?"  ...By calculating the airspeed velocity of a swallow carrying a coconut, of course!

Oh, yes, and for serious inverted kayak goose hunting, a silly straw snorkel or traditional hollow wooden bilge might be a must!  Icy, wet fletchings be darned!

and some bail money if the warden catches ya!

you can't hunt waterfowl from anything that conceals you under the surface of the water.  :nono: ,

Darn, might have to disguise the kayak as a trojan rabbit instead...

Trogan Mallard might get you closer to the geese.  :p

this summer was my 25th year kayaking, and I got on the river 65 days.  Never once did I ever consider trying to roll my Jackson 'rock star'  with my Black widow long bow.  Nope never even crossed my mined.  But now that I've seen you do it I DON'T HAVE TO.  Thanks
