Anybody use montana dcoys for ground hunting whitetails?Something to distract them for a second so you can draw.

I'm using one some this year. My experience is that the deer's attention is drawn to it, but they really get nervous. I have had several does stomp and blow at the decoy, but it does seem to hold their attention for a while. I have had a couple of little bucks walk up to it in their dominance mode, and then walk off when the decoy doesn't respond. I'm waiting for a big buck to show some interest, but so far, no luck.

Does don't like decoys. Rutting bucks seem to get interested. I would rather have a live doe than a fake one when a buck shows up.

I'm using a renzo silhouette with similar results. Old wise does know something's up. Young fawns and bucks are usually suckers for it. On a windy day when the wind is blowing the tail and giving some realistic movement that's when they'll really work.
Now then, get your weapons, your quiver and your bow and go out into the open country to hunt some wild game for me.- Genesis 27:3
