After shooting a Damascus glove for several months ( really like the string feel ), I tried my wife's calf hair tab, and find I get a cleaner release. Want to get one for myself, but I don't know which tab would have the softest ( maximum string feel ) leather backing - don't want cordovan. Any suggestions ?

The softest that I've felt is a no-name tab from my local archery shop.  I like a soft tab with calf-hair on the string side.  I've tested strings by putting lateral pressure on them and watching as they roll off the tabs with both leather and hair on leather and the strings roll much less with hair-on tabs.  This makes me feel like hair on gives a cleaner release.

Black Widow tabs are also fairly pliable.  They have some that are for both 3-under and split.  Theirs have cuts between where the fingers go so even though the leather is a little thicker than my no-name tab, I think I can feel the string a little better overall with theirs.

I use the black widow calf hair tabs exclusively....I have three (just in case)...IMO they really allow you to feel the string, yet I can shoot all day w/o sore fingers.  BTW...I have used several types of tabs and gloves, and I am no longer tempted to go away from the black widow tabs.
