I replaced my arrow rest on my 96' super kodiak tonight and noticed the number 52 hand written behind it on the riser.  Wondering what it represents.  It is marked 50# @ 28 by the way.  Thanks

Bear would scale each bow after construction and write the actual draw weight on the riser where the strike plate would go.  So although the designed draw weight for your bow was 50#, the actual was 52# once the bow was finished.

Interesting that they were still doing that in 96, my old 68 supermag has the poundage written behind it's strike plate also.

I've seen it on Bear bows back into the mid-50s and on many Pearson bows from the 60s.

Can't recall ever seeing it on a Howatt but then I haven't seen anywhere near as many Howatts as I would like.   :)

Thanks guys, I was guessing that but it's always nice to hear it from someone who knows.  I just finished up lowering the rest like "fred's"  and also reshaped the grip to fit my hand.  Never was happy with it, but now...it is custom fit.  Tru Oil going on it then out to shoot it some more.
