I have a calf hair arrow rest that I was going to install on my bow as the old has seen it's better days.  When I went to install it I noticed it didn't have an adhesive backing like the others I have used before. After I had removed the old rest and spent 1/2 hour removing the old glue with rubbing alcohol and a rag! I assume they make some type of glue for this and was wondering if any of you guys know what it is?

you can use double stick tape or barge cement or a rubber glue that they sell at craftstores and even use fletch tite and let dry will work good..I perfer barge but sometimes hard to find..stay away from super glue as it makes the rest hard and a pain to get off or in a pinch just use the fuzzy side of velcro

Barge cement is excellent.  Whatever you do, DO NOT use Duco; it will remove the finish from your bow!

I use whatever brand of contact cement. They all work the same.

I used Elmer s rubber cement for a seal skin on my kanati. Has worked good so far. Not had to remove yet. Hopefully it will not damage finish. But it will always be covered though.

After searching on this site I used DAP Weldwood a couple of weeks ago on some sealskin. You can find it at home depot for under $5.00 a bottle. you just brush it on the underside of your rest and on the shelf, let it dry for about 15 minutes and then stick the two together. It worked well and has been holding tight for 3 weeks. I think it is just another brand of contact cement.

I have always used Barge's leather glue. It dries fast, holds well, and doesn't hurt the finish on a bow.

I put a cowhide hair rest on my shelf with shoe goo, so far so good.
