I am interested in both the Mohawk Sparrowhawk and Dwyer Original Longbow, but haven't owned or shot either.  Does anyone out their own both?  How do they compare, and what do you like about them?

Thank you!

Go for the Dwyer. Best r/d I have shot and I have shot a lot including the Mohawk.   Bill

Both are great, and very similar.  Can't go wrong with either.  I have a Dwyer Original and love it, but a Sparrowhawk is on my short list.  With both of them I would go 66" or longer.

I bought a Dwyer Orgional a couple months ago and really fell in love with it. I shoot it better than any longbow I have. Haven't shot the Mohawk so can't compare the two.

Ive had a few "standard" Mohawk longbows, and a Dwyer original.  For me,  I like the Mohawk in 62".  The shortest Dwyer Original they list is 64".  I just find a 62" longbow as long as I need, and more compact in the woods... for some reason that extra 2" makes a difference in moving in thick brush, or at least it does for me.

Any how, the Dwyers can be ordered fancier, with more wood/veneer options etc.  but for a no nonesence hunting bow the Mohawk is just hard to beat.

I`ve shot a Dwyer and a standard Mohawk. I really liked both but my Mohawk works for me. Never shot a sparrowhawk so cant say about it. You will win with either I would think.RC

I have owned two Dwyer originals both 66" 56©28.  One was boo/ash limbed and the other boo/red elm limbed. Out of the two, i thought the boo/ash one was a little smoother. They are Very nice bows that can be all purdied up if you spend the $$$. I thought they had a small bit of handshock that wasnt kind on my bow shoulder at times but I was shooting 7.5-8gpp arrows. Look into the Toelke Super D for a smooth D shaped bow if you are open to other brands.  Dave Dwyer is an excellent craftsman and genuine guy to talk to and you can't go wrong with one of his bows .

Yes, the Dwyer and Mohawk bows are similar R/D bows.  That is the type of bow I like best.

I have a 30 1/2" draw with a longbow, and thought a 66 - 68" bow would be best.

I appreciate any additional feedback / likes and dislikes about these bows.  Very helpful!

Thanks,
Rob
