Hi Gang, been quite some time since I've been on, several years matter of fact. It's good to be back!
Anywho, I'm trying to get my Kodiak set up and I'm having a hard time trying to figure out a good arrow set up. Right now I'm shooting 2117 aluminum, with 125 up front, the bow is 45@28 and I'm pulling 29.
Been quite a while since I've been shooting, and lost all of my arrow set up equipment in a divorce, so it's difficult for me to play around with different weights.
I'd like to get a decent set up, and am not adverse to switching over to carbons, as I shoot them with my longbow.
Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

Keith,I would need something like a 200 gr point on a 2117 for a similar weight bow.I would take about a 145 weight point on a 2016.I'm talking about a 30" arrow, drawn to 29".A 125 gr point with your arrow would be too stiff. You could dial them in with point weight if you don't mind the overall arrow weight.

Jim, I tried 260 grains up front, took them off of my carbons for the longbow, they were ending nock right and the bow was still really a lot louder then it used to be a few years ago. I was hoping that the heavier tip woulds reduce the noise.

I shoot 2018 with 175 upfront , I draw 29 @ 60 lb . I think a 2016 with 175  tips would work for you . My 2 cent .

I agree.

I shoot a Kodiak Special 60 @28 with a XX75 2018 and 210-gr SF broadhead with a 19-gr insert plus 35-gr insert weight added. Flys great .... get Stu Millers Dynamic Spine Calculator and work with it, it will do wonders for you.
