Went to the lease yesterday and brought a 5 gallon bucket of corn & kook aid that has been souring for a week for the hogs.
We'll walking to the stand realized my hat from college & mask fell out of my pocket so went back to look.  By the time I got to the stand I was literally soaked. Another spray down of homemade scent killer and now no hat or mask e hunt was on. Soquickly realized I'm in the sun so sat there for 1.5hrs sweating more.
The huge hig highway under the fence I hear a noise, and see a cat walk out. Thinking a neighbors I didn't move. Closer it got I could see its big, by the time I realized it was a bobcat & not the neighbors it was under a huge branch of my tree. I tried to thread an arrow thru a hole and missed. The cat then just looked at me, givening me time to grab another arrows, swat down to see under the branch and try again.
2nd shot the cat jumped 5 feet up and ran into the  woods. I couldn't stop shacking!!! After 15 mins I had to check the arrows, both we're misses!
2nd time seeing a bobcat & best chance to get one and I missed...twice!! Looking back I didn't pick a spot.
I joke and say good thing cause I can't afford a bobcat mount right now

Oh e owner was sitting in the stand I planned to (shade) and 9 hogs came in and he got a 125 lb sow.

It's hunting and that's how it goes.  I really missed on purpose cause I want to use Snags arrows he's making for me  :)

Don't worry....bobcats have LOTS of spota. Hard to pick just one  :)

Jayb

LOL TxAg! I heard the hogs grunt behind me so thought I could Redeem myself but they must have smelled me or decided to take other path.
A humming bird cane with a foot a me trying to drink from my bright nocks/fletchings. He later landed on a branch close by, never saw a humming bird land before.

Still a great time in the woods! Since I lost my hat I'm using that as an accuse to go to Caeblas for a new one  :)

yeah so far all my trad hunting stories and most of my old compound hunting stories end with the phrase, "I did everything right till I pulled back the string" I'll get it right one of these days and so will you, till then I'll keep having the time of my life doing it wrong;) I really think I'd rather miss with a bow than kill everything with a gun! Although it is nice to put something in the freezer. Good luck and keep on trying!

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!
