Is Koa considered to be an oily wood?
I've got my first Koa riser going right now and it doesn't seem oily at all. Rather light weight stuff similar in density to western curly maple i'm thinking..... but Wow! is this stuff purdy.

I'm thinking this may deserve about 7 coats of true oil before it's all said and done.  Kirk

Wouldn't the Tru Oil then make it an "oily" wood?  :D    ;)
