Which is easier on the fingers?

Just got my new bow, and it's a little heavier than the bow I'd been practicing with. I'd been using a tab I made, and it worked fine, but I'd still get some wear and tear in a couple of spots on my fingers. With the new bow, it's starting to get uncomfortable.

I was thinking of trying a glove instead of the tab. What are the pros and cons? I know it's mostly a matter of preference and both will work, but I know there has to be some small differences.

BW tab.  I find they protect the fingers better than thinner gloves

Like the super glove, it gives more finger protection, but the tab to me is smoother and more accurate. \\

I like the tab and would suggest you try to get one that is thick enough to give added protection. I can't remeber when I got my calf hair tab,  (or the brand name),but it has a layer of rubber between two layers of leather. Although it works well, a heavy bow will still talk to your fingers if you shoot a whole lot of arrows at a time. Also, I have some heavy duty calluses on my fingers. All that said, I still prefer a tab to a glove.

Bateman cordovan. Order directly from Bateman and you can request a thick one. The last one I ordered from 3 Rivers was real thin.

Yep, I agree with BWD.  A good cordovan tab is hard to beat for finger protection and smooth releases.....and will last a long time.

I tried a Dura glove for a while, and although I liked the feel, some of the nerves in my middle finger started to bother me.  I switched back to a Cordovan tab.....problem solved.  There are also some thicker gloves on the market, but think I'll stick with my tab.

Well, ok, guys. Maybe I'll just try a better tab. Thanks for the input!

I would get the Eichler tab 3Rivers is selling. I have one and really like it.

Bateman cordovan. Didn't know you could get a thicker one from them directly. I ordered from 3 rivers I really like it. I don't shoot a glove anymore.  God bless.

I like the Saunders Fab Tab. Plastic. Really slick and I don't need any of the extra layers that come with it. Very easy to spin around on your hand when not needed.

Reaper TN

I prefer a tab.  I have been using the Cavalier Ulra-Lite and Elite tabs and like them better than any others I've used.

I wanted to use a glove and did my first two years back to recurves. However, about a year ago I switched to a tab and I'm very satisfied. I switched because I was developing deep joint pain in the hooking fingers.

I use the Cavalier Tab from 3 Rivers. It is 3-4 times as expensive as others but I like putting the metal frame of the tab against my bow string. I put moleskin on the metal so I don't have a sharp edge scratching my bows.

I too, prefer a tab.I started with a glove, but I'm much more consistent with a tab. I use the Saunders Pak-Tab.

Man, I'm the minority here. I tried several different tabs for 2-3 weeks and the sides if my fingers got so sore I didn't even want to shoot for a couple days. I couldn't get one trimmed right so it wouldn't stop popping my nose.  I use the Black Widow PDQ and Stick Tite gloves and they work well for me.
