Pretty new here and just started shooting traditional this last April. I drew a California Bighorn tag here in oregon and will be bringing the recurve along with me as another weapon option. I hope i get in a situation where i can use it and will be sure to post pics if i do.

Congrats Mike, sounds like an awesome adventure to look forward to. Best of luck to you! Take lots of pics.

Sounds like your first weapon option is a gun? Just curious. Take pics and good luck either way.

Bighorn is a dream of mine!

Congrats on the draw and good luck on the hunt.

As of right now my first weapon of choice is my wheel bow as i do not have the confadince as of now to ethicly kill a big game animal with the recurve. My hunt starts at the end of October and i will be shooting my recurve everyday until then in hopes to shoot well enough to give the recurve a chance for the first couple days(8day hunt), time will tell.

Good luck and practice hard!!!

Hi Mike, good to see another Oregon guy here. Congrats on that awesome tag! I hope you can put a stalk on with that bow in your hand. Let us know how it goes. A friend drew a tag about 5yrs ago and killed a nice sheep down in the lower Owyhee unit.
Isaiah 49:2...he made me a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.

I completely understand.... Was there not all that long ago. It will be a blast regardless. Take lots of pics. We live vicariously through these hunts

Good luck on your hunt and yeah take lots of pics. I have a friend that him and his wife drew tags back to back years. They both got nice rams. They were rifle kills but he bowhunted awhile and had some chances. Hers is huge! Like 170's. If you need someone to talk to he is usually preety good about helpin people out if its for the same area he hunted. If you want it i can give you his phone # and you can see what he has to say. Enjoy the scouting and hunt.

Congrats on an awesome tag ... those Bighorns are really cool critters!!!
To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

Still think you should take me along with my camera to get the hero pics!     :readit:

If they're no more spooky then the rams along I84, you'll have trouble getting within 25 yds of some rams.

That Brackenbury has some MOJO in it, make it happen!      :archer:
