I walked up on one once...I thought he was all dead and dried up...the way he was lying so flat on the ground.

The guy I was with told me that's how they hide, and that when they are that young they have no scent to prevent preditors from picking them off so easy.  Not sure if the scent part is true....maybe someone could confirm.

Thanks for reviving those memories I got while fly fishing the BlackFoot.    :coffee:
