Also any good trad bow shops near this local ?

CEW

Wakarusa Valley south of Topeka is having thier Traditional shoot this Sat. and Sun. It's a great shoot well worth the drive.

It's about 1 hr drive from Manhatten.

Mike Horten at "The Knocking Point" can get you good directions, as opposed to the questionable ones I could provide.

If you can break loose a bit- I agree with CEW and highly recommend the trad shoot this weekend.  The club is T.H.E. Archery club.  The range is on the old 75 just south of Topeka maybe 5-10 miles.  Some great vendors, food, and great shoot. I have often went even when I could not shoot- just to hang out and visit. You can call me too if you like.  Just PM me. . .

Dan- here in KS!

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.

Check out Mike Dunnaway at Wild Horse Creek Bows.

There's an archery shop with a range that you can use just outside of town on Hwy 24 like you're heading to Wamego.  You'll get some funny looks but it's an alright place.  South side of the road before you get to the sale barn.

The Nocking Point, as has been said, is a fantastic place.  Bit of a drive from Manhappiness, but well worth the visit if you can squeeze it in.  Winchester is the town, such as it is.  It's north and east of you.

Any other entertainment questions, feel free to ask.  I'm a Manhattan expert.   :)

I think Mike Horton is scheduled to be at the Topeka shoot.

Bring Your bow and " kill two birds with one arrow " so to speak. This is a really good shoot as everyone has already mentioned.

Weather forcast is looking good after a little rain on Thursday. Going to cool down and be perfect for the weekend.

I am going to be there with my wife, brother and his wife and a couple of nephews and a great nephew.  Look for a loud fat guy.  We will be there all weekend, going to camp out.  Stop by and say Hi.

I gotta get out to Manhattan one of these days.

Kitseguecla,
Both of the above mentioned "Mikes" will be at the Wakarusa shoot. It's only aboot an hour to the east of Manhatten.
Come on by, lots of Tradgang folk will be there... good range and a lot of nice folks.

And Killdeer, there are some of us here that are awaiting your arrival..  :wavey:

I love KS!  Great people, scenery, and weather.  Not to mention the hunting.

Manhappiness is probably the most fantastic town of its size in the universe.  It's a little on the big side, esp during the school year, but it's a great place.  And it's a great base to hunt and fish out of.  I have attended cookouts with 14 species of fresh game and fish, mostly from within day trip range.

I sure hope He doesn't pick Me out of the crowd by mistake if He's looking for a loud fat man.

Hermon

You can direct him my way...I have you on both counts.    :nono:    But to lessen the confusion let me add "short" to the description.
See you there.

bretto

You got Me on the short Glenn. See You in Topeka. LOL

Paul/KS

"loud fat man.."  :saywhat:
That's gonna narrow it down by not much.  ;)

See ya'll there.
