Everyone, I have an issue I need   :help:   with.  I am a right hand bow shooter and I shoot 5inch feathers.  I mount them on my arrows with right helical bitzenberg fletchers.

1. Do I need right wing or left wing feathers?
2. Does the right helical ok for Right hand shooters?  Left hand shooters?

You need right wing feathers for your clamp. Its been a long time since I've heard many strong opinions as to whether you should use a particular fletch depending on which hand shooting style you have. Mr. Bear said it didn't matter to him as do most other authorities. I shoot rt. handed and sort of favor LW feathers but I use both with good results. Good luck.

You definately need right hand feathers for a right hand clamp and left hand feathers for a left hand clamp.  In regards to what one to shoot, it really doesn't matter.  I always try to keep the arrows in my hunting quiver matched however.  They are either all right or all left.

Great, I really appreciate it.  The left winged feathers were coming off too easy and I thought I might have to go to a right wing.  thanks.

one thing to consider if you are shooting off of your hand with no shelf or if you have a high wrist grip and are right handed... sometimes the quill on rw feathers will cut your hand ...i doubt that is an issue..but it is something to think about...other than that.. it makes no difference...

If you have right-wing feathers, you should use a right-helical clamp. Or you could get by with a straight clamp (you can off-set the clamp so the fletching looks helical) and use either right- or left-wing feathers...but never mix rw/lw feathers on the same arrow. I use Bitzenburger's Dial-O-Fletch and have used left-helical, right-helical and straight fletching clamps with it, with excellent results. (No, not an advert for Bitz, just my opinion)
