I plan on dying some feathers before long. Wondering what you use for different colors? Especially what you use for yellow?

Tuneric is a food spice and that is what I used to dye my feathers yellow.

Warning:  I highly suggest that you use an extra microwave and not the one you use for everyday in the house kind of stuff.  Nothing like the smell of boiled feathers.

I believe Rick at Great Northern bow quivers still sells feather dye, at a very reasonable price the last time I bought some.  Very nice bright yellow.  Also red, green and a few other colors.  I've also used Rit fabric dye.  Also works well, but not quite as bright.

I have had good luck with using Great Northern feather dye.

In the How To section they have a thread on how to do it, I use Rit dye and had great results.

PM magnus, he's a sponsor here and sells natural turkey feathers. I bought some from him that he dyed yellow and they turned out very nice. Great guy to deal with, I bet you he'd help you out.

I'm a fan of the Great Northern dye. I've used their yellow and it comes out very nice.
