I just got my old Shrew back from a buddy. I've decided to use it for turkey hunting this year.He had rubber silencers on it and I just don't like the way they look.I usually use the wool puffs. I didn't have any here,so I got an idea. I save all the tails from the rabbits my hawk catches.I keep them in a glass on my bookshelf for good luck(I think a cup full of feet would get a little stinky,LOL) I cut one in half and put it through the string. Looks and works great!

Thanks guys,I thought they looked pretty nice.

Ben,yep,I'm a falconer.I hunt rabbits, squirrels, pheasants and ducks with my hawks.

By the way this is an old Shrew.I think I had it made in '94 or '95.Still zips an arrow out with the best of them. I couldn't believe that such a short bow could be as smooth and accurate as Ron claimed, but it is. I've had probably 4 or 5 other really short bows and sold them quick.

I bet they would work great.  Look great too!
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Goshawkin,

I just bought an older Shrew also....absolutely love it...killed to turkeys with it...the first was just 3 days after it came in the mail. It did so well I sanded it down and refinished it today. I trapped the limbs a little (it took of 5 lbs.) that made it 65 lbs. at 28 in. I will put a new leather grip on it and probably some horn on the tips.
Those bunny tails look great...I better start sav'in them.

Hi Lyle,Yep,they're great little bows. I saw your post on the 2nd bird and left a comment.
Search the post "Great morning!" it'll tell ya how I got my shrew back.I killed a few deer with it before my buddy borrowed it and he got a couple deer and a boar. The skins were lifting a little on the edges,I got some advice on here how to fix it. I did it yesterday and it came out great.
We'll see how the bunny tails hold up after a bunch of shooting.Hope they bring me luck.
Congrats again on your birds.
Here's a pic of my Shrew. "Lil' Rattler"
