the slates I make scream as much as the glass, pot calls are very versatile but can take alot of practice to get good with. Get one each slate with several different strikers, box, Diaphram & practice with them. You never what a bird wants on a given day. Get a few more each year & before you know it you have 80-90 calls to choose from. Yes I am addicted & still never have the perfect call. Its a sickness. Mike

Where do you suggest I get these from? I might by bot a box and slate and just practice.
Hopefully you will see me as a better person today than I was yesterday..

It doesn't get any greener than me when it comes to turkeys. I have never hunted them before and never called one, but because I am a PDG elk talker with a diaphragm and see and hear real birds pretty often, I am now starting to make some respectable almost-turkey-like noise with an HS Strut. But I remember how long it took me to stop squeaking and squawking and gagging trying to sound like an elk. So consider the learning curve.
