I have a number in mind and obviously it's hard for you to give an accurate figure without seeing the bow but what do you think a 1967 (First year) Super Kodiak is worth? The bow is in good to very good condition as is but I may have it reconditioned before I sell it unless I feel the extra cost would not generate enough extra profit to justify doing it. Give me an as is price and what you believe the reconditioned price would be. I would rate this bow a 7 or 8 for a 1967 and a 7 overall. There are a couple very small scratches and dings and it has the normal cracks in the finish vertically in the limb glass. these bows are known for it and it does not effect the bow mechanically. The specs are : #50 @28" and 60" amo. Thanks

I've seen them on the auction site for $200-$300.  Refinishing doesn't appear to affect the price much.  May get a few bucks more out of it from someone who wants to hunt with it, a few bucks less from a collector if restored.

A nice collectable bow like that would need to be professionally restored if you wanted it to be done right and you'd never get your money out of it. 50# is a desirable weight for a hunting bow so I'd be trying to sell it for $300-$350 myself if not seriously beat up.

If only a couple scratches and "small" dings and only a couple stress cracks, I would venture you could get closer to $400.

Restoring one that is still in good shooting condition would not be wise in my opinion.

BTW, 50# is a popular weight and there are plenty of folks looking to own and shoot the best SK they made in the performance arena.

I agree that the 67 was indeed the best. I would probably trade for a 69 of the same weight as I was born in 69. I am close with my estimate as I thought that I would ask $350 for it as is and let the buyer decide if they want to refinish it. It is fine the way it is for hunting. Just needs the glue or stickie adhesive rubbed of from the moleskin that was applied to the riser and site window/shelf. Thanks for the input fellas.

I wouldn't sell it for less than 350.00. You could probably get a little more. Depends what it looks like.

This bow is a righty and thanks for the advise maybe I will hold out for $400. Since I posted this I have had a lot of interest in getting pics but it's not cleaned up yet and I have to apply a shelf rug and strike plate.

I have owned and sold many Super Kodiaks from '67.5 to '69. In my experience depending on condition you may get between $250 and $350 in the condition you listed.

Refinishing does not hurt the value and at times may increase the value. Based on what you pay you may not get back your total investment if you want to just make a profit.

Having said that I kept one '67.5 Super Kodiak and it was in bad shape. I really liked the bow though. I sent it to Tradgang member for refinishing. He is going to refinish the bow, put on diamonback skins and a black beaver tail grip and shelf material. If I were to sell it I would loose money on it, but this one I am keeping, because I like the bow so much.

I can't wait to see it when it is refinished.
