I have some mink oil and was wondering if any of you use it on quivers or any leather. Will hurt the leather?

I use mink oil on many leathers and it works great to soften and condition the leather.

I've started using pecards leather dressing now tho which helps to partially water proof the leather also.

I have used mink oil for years and found it works great on boots and such. But, I have not wanted to put it on any hunting gear/boots because of the scent. Is the scent something to consider?

Have a big bunch of leather oils & conditioners but prefer mink oil especially for my good stuff; bq, glove, armguard, etc.

Use Sno-seal and bee's wax base, works great.  Heard the mink, which works great as well, will start breaking down the leather more quickly.

I've been using mink oil for over 30 years on all my leather stuff. I have a belt quiver that was made by a friend that has 25 years of mink oil on it and the leather looks still like new.

I use it on everything. Quiver, grip, and glove included. I have never worried about the scent.

This stuff ain't no rocket surgery science!

I am the same way.

I mix it with neatsfoot oil. Great stuff.

Neatsfoot oil works good too. Just make sure it the pure stuff.

Some types I've noticed have some additives which may break down the leather.

Jerry Jeffer

Mink oil is probably the best leather treatment you can use for softening, waterproofing, and keeping it in good shape. I never worried about the scent.

I have always used mink oil on my leather goods, and my son swears by it on his baseball gloves.
