is that a pear tree? one time i saw a partridge in a pear tree do something like that on the ground...

Is it a hawk scrape perhaps? Is there a pecking branch above it?   :D  It does look man made though,sitting spot for a hunter.

it really does look like a squachy area. lol let Bubba walk by that and we will find out exactly what it is.

Looks like a bare spot on the ground with a Hawk feather in it....  :wavey:  .... glad I could be of so much help......not.......  :dunno:

Seems like most birds dust. I think it's likely that had something to do with it. Maybe after a hunter started the spot.

If you ever run into a scrape like that again. nock an arrow and back out of there slowly.
