i've always shot carbon, but recently came across a super 48 at 50#(28 in draw) and was wondering what kind of woodies i need to shoot. i have no idea really about wood arrows. i would like to put my own feathers on the arrow, but dont really want to get into the finishing, lacquering, etc steps yet.My carbon arrows are 29" from throat of nock to edge of insert (if that helps/matters). any help is greatly appreciated. thanks a bunch, GBH

Fletcher

Assuming you are drawing 28", for a 29" arrow and 125 gr point I would recommend a 60-64 spine.  If you want to shoot a heavier point, like 160 gr, go up in spine another 5 lb.

Most fletchers can provide shafts ready to fletch.
