None noticed and I have shot the same bow with and without the rubber protector on the bottom limb.

RM81

None here.  I cut them so they just barely cover the string groove keeping it in place.

The rubber ones will hold moisture and that can't be good. I put a leather one on a very quiet recurve and it wasn't quiet anymore, not being overly bright I then tried one on a longbow with the same results.

Mine doesn't... of course my tip protector is the toe of my boot.   ;)

Only issue I have experience on 2 of my recurves is a click as I get half way to full draw. It drove me nuts. I found it with both the leather protector and the softer plastic. I would always focus on the sound and it would effect my concentration. Took the protector off and no more click. I think its the way the string pulls up the protector. I might try cutting it as RM81 mentions so it only covers the tip.
