I bought a new to me Border Black Douglas Ultra TD recurve recently and I really like this bow.  I haven't shot a recurve I liked as much as I like this Border.

Anyhow, after attaching the limbs, when I look sideways where the limb and riser meet, I notice a tiny gap in the middle.  There is no gap at the both ends just in the middle.  I would say the gap is less than 1/16th " and is what I would describe as a "sliver".  Is this normal?

The bow shoots great!  No hand shock and minimal noise when I have puff balls installed.

Thanks!

Bill

Just a quick question.... is there a thin rubber gasket between the riser and the limb? I have a Border bow and mine has a soft rubber gasket that fits between the limb and riser. If you are worried, then you should email Sid himself. I know he will give you the answer you will need.

Yes there is a red gasket.  I only have one other takedown bow, a ACS CX, and when I hold that bow horizontally and look at the area where the limb joins the riser, I can't see any space.

I'll shoot Sid and email but just wondered if other Border owners had this as well.

Thanks.

Bill
