I'm not a morning person to say the least but when you actually drag yourself out of bed in the morning the view is amazing.

This was the last day I hunted in 2011 (glad I went even though I didn't get anything)...it was during the Michigan gun season but I was out with the orange army on private ground with my recurve I call "Big Red".

I don't like to make a lot of movement this time of the morning but the sunrise just made me do it.

My pinch point view to the right:

View to the left (pond is about 18 yards tops):

I hunted it the morning before this also and saw 18 deer but didn't get a shot.  Had to play by the land owners rules and since I wanted to get invited back I figured I should.  Had 9 does/fawns within 15 yards or less...biggest doe was about 7 yards.

That night I had a pig of a doe walk the water edge and stop in my shooting lane.  I think they knew they were safe.

Thanks,

Josh

pretty cool pics, that rise will surely give you energy a red bull cant.

Nice photos. The deer sometimes do everything but climb the steps of the stand if you are not going to shoot.

I had a small buck one time lick my tree steps. He left then come back later and did it again. The funny thing is I never wear my hunting boots while driving and spray them down with scent killer along with my gloves every time.

I've had them chew my bow rope before...that was funny!

I hunted this stand the year before and had two big does at about 15 yards for over 10 minutes...had no clue I was there.  I love the spot but haven't been able to make it up there later in the year when the does are "open season".

Agree...no energy drink can give you what the view can!

Nice view. At this point of my life, going and sitting are what I like and if get to take a shot and harvest an animal, that's an added bonus.

I love early morning's! I spend most of mine in a building at work, so when I get a chance to see the sun come up it's awesome. Nothing better than being in the woods or on the water when the suns startin to peek over the hills! Sunsets are awesome too!

I don't choose the deer, the deer chooses me.

My favorite time to be in the woods is just when the sun starts to break and there is that little lag when the only thing awake is wildlife -- Nice pics

Great pictures!  Most all of my hunts happen in the morning, and I love the sight of the woods coming alive.  Watching a beautiful sunrise is hard to beat!     :)
