I was just recording my bow info. after shooting today, and it seems that my nocking point is way higher than any others that I've heard mentioned.  It's been set at 1 1/8th inch ever since I went to Rick Welch's class about a year ago.

Does any one else have a nocking point that high?

Three under shooter? Did you check the tiller?

BDann

Yeah, I forgot that I do shoot 3 under, so Jim Reynolds said that I'd have to raise it up a bit, but it seems kind of high.  I'm not complaining about the shooting, just wondering if others have had the same experience.

I shoot split fingered and I shoot with a 5/8" high nock point. This is where I get the best bareshaft flight and groups with my fletched arrows.

I ran into the same thing. I have to set mine really high to get the right flight but it works so what the hey!
Judge not less thee be judged yourself.

I have seen that once with a three under shooter. He was pulling most of the bow with his ring finger, but then not all tillers are the same and it could be just your bow.

heydeerman

If that's what your bow likes, keep feeding it arrows.   :)

Is there a possibility that the nock is sliding on the string at release? You might try two nocking points one above and one below the arrow nock.

I had the same thing with a bow a while back. I had it tuned perfectly, but the nockset was over 1" above square.  I was shooting it 3 under and it was tillered for split.

BDann

That's good to know. The bow was tillered for split, and I changed to 3 under.
