I introduced myself a few weeks back as a new member. Really love this site. Thought I'd show a little more about myself by posting this video. You may or may not have seen it already, but it's my buddy and I having a blast shooting at ducks and geese!

A Few Common Questions I Always Get:
-No, we didn't lose a single arrow! Hard to tell, but most arrows come down in the sandy river bottom.
-No, it's not that dangerous. It's very difficult to shoot straight up and keep an arrow on the shelf, so we're almost always angled (except one shot, which you'll see).
-No, these birds will not decoy. They are just getting up off a nearby pond & going to feed.
-No, we didn't actually kill any, but it was the most fun I've ever had hunting waterfowl!

If you're going to watch any of it, watch the last two minutes, and it might make you want to watch it all, ha. Anyway, thought the guys here would enjoy it. It was a BLAST!

That looks like a total blast!!!! I have pheasant hunted and dove hunted with my bow and really want to try the duck/goose thing.

Congrats on what looked like a great time!

I need to do that I live in the Duck and Goose capitol of the would.I am going to try this. Stuttgart Ar should be great for this, I see fields going to church that have 500 to 1500 geese in them.

AWESOME fun. Did you feel you had enough range and power with the flu flu arrows or next time will it be with regular fletching? I have been experimenting on nerf footballs with spiral flu flus and had to trim them down for more range with 60#s.

that was great!  when your laughing that hard you know your having a good time  :)

Look like you where shooting at them when they were still pretty far??? Great fun I'm sure! I wanted to do it for many years now, but I would use decoys an try to call them in the decoys... and then... Shoot I guess!!!
thank you for sharing

I know it's hard to tell, but the birds are much closer than they appear. We had plenty of range with the flu flu's (some 4 feathers, some three). They'd go way up through the birds and we kept thinking we might have a chance as they came back down through them, lol.

This is totally doable, and I think we would end up with a kill after a couple times of doing this. We touched wing feathers a few times, which would cause the birds to suck in their wing, lose control for a moment, then get back in rhythm and keep flying on.

Looks like a blast!!  Love the hunting song at the end!  Who was that?  They sound Australian.  Ha Ha

You guys are nuts.....that being said, it looked like a heck of a good time!     Just out of curiosity, have you ever scored with the bow on a goose?
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

I've never shot at a goose but I did get a Tundra Swan on the wing with my recurve last year.

Flingblad, yep that's ACDC mate, lol.
ron w, Nope....not yet, but if we can catch those birds like that again, it's just a matter of time. I live in Wyoming and drive to my in-law's in Nebraska a couple times a winter, so it's hard to catch 'em just right.

Glad you guys enjoy the video. I really need to make a follow-up with a kill!

Come on guys, you need a little powder on those foreheads...they're flaring on you!  Hahaha, that was awesome thanks for posting that one!
