Actually, it has been in the Mat-Su Valley. There are quite a few tradbow shooters out here. You just didn't have much of a choice in the way of "off the shelf" trad bows.

That has now changed! Screaming Eagle archery has started stocking a few recurves and longbows. What astounded me is that besides the Jaguar, Durado, and Gamemaster, Wayne and Tony have a few Toelke's! They have a Lynx, a Whip and a Chinook.

I've owned a Whip, but I've never held a Lynx or Chinook. The Lynx is what really interested me, but at 54#, it is a bit heavy for me. Bummer. It's a great feeling bow, and I really like the 64" length. If I didn't have a Kanati coming, I might have taken a chance with working into it. At least I can fondle it for now every time I go to the range!

Yup, it's encouraging. I need to get to the ranges more frequently and make a few more trad contacts.

I was stationed in Adak, and Mat-su was my bear hunting area.  Wish I had my longbows in those days

There are a few trad bows floating around in shops that I have seen, but surley the quality is coming up with those.

It's getting more interesting every time I go to the range.

Yesterday, I finally go hold a Roy Hall bow (can't remember which model), but it was nice. Unfortunately, it was too heavy for me to draw, but still.....

Then another guy showed up and was trying out the Whip. Going to the range is getting to be more fun every time I go!
