Was wondering. I'm shooting 66" and was wondering if the 4 extra inches would make a big difference.

I have hunted this season with a couple of 66" bows, just started shooting a 68" bow and have a 70" bow on order. From what I can see so far not much difference. If using a commercial blind you would need to make sure it is big enough to accomodate but in a stand I don't see it making a big difference, just check for clearance around the stand and you should have no issues.

Good luck!

Thanks Steve.I normally hunt from the ground but this past Saturday I was in a climber and really enjoyed the view around me seen 3 deer that I know I wouldn't have seen in my blind.so I'm gonna start hunting more from a good stand.

My favorite bows are 70" except the 68" Schulz. Agreed a short commercial blind can be a problem. Like natural ground blinds better anyway as I can build any height & openings. Never a concern stillhunting or from trees or treestands.

No problems from trees here. I get into the nastiest ones I can find too.
I did have a problem hunting the Newfoundland tundra for caribou though. It was just high enough to mess with myt lower tip a bit, but I managed.

I cant my bows quite a bit so the length has never been an issue.  I like the longer length as it seems to make the draw smoother.  I have 2 at 70" and 2 at 68".  They all shoot well.

I see great minds think alike! I use and enjoy two 66" Hills and they work just fine at my draw length, but I have resolved that my next Hill will be 70" because...well, just because...!?

Scrub_buck

I am currently hunting with a 69" Hill tembo from stands. No problem what-so-ever.

YORNOC

Forgot to mention, I shoot recurves. I wish I could shoot longbows like you guys.

My two favorite bows are 70" yew longbows. I hunt from the ground with no trouble. Do I feel a difference in draw and shooting? Yes I do. Maybe it is just me, but 70" for me is just nice and smooth.

I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

Jerry,

Good photo showing your bow and the nice looking place you bowhunt.
