What do you wear? I am in process of ordering my asbell pullover but IDK whats common for pants. I want to be warm and reduce bulk.

Thanks in advanced.   :archer2:

I really love my Cabelas Legacy washable wool pants--nice cargo pockets and top quality.  I normally only wear a pair of light weight longjohns under them. I have both the charcoal and the green colors.  Very reasonable price as well for good wool.
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

I have some old Woolrich wool pants that are real burr collectors, but are really warm. I'm going to get some military surplus wools for warmer weather.

What David said if the weather is truly cold. Otherwise, I use a lighter pair of whipcord wool pants that I can layer under if needed.

Smithhammer hit the nail on the head.  whipcord wool for cool and legacy wool cold.

Wool bibs.  Columbia has good ones for the price.

Do you have a local "Family Value" type second hand clothing shop?  I have found Woolrich and Codet wool clothing there.

I also wear Cheaperthandirt.com mil surp clothing.  Swedish wool pants are a great deal, though the cuffs are a bit odd.  Makes no difference outside the boot.

If you're searching for a lighter wool pant, my whipcord wool pants are the most versatile outdoor pants I own, hands down. They are comfortable in warmer temps (well, "warmer" being shoulder seasons in Idaho, anyway...). And when paired with some mid-weight wool longjohns, I can wear them in pretty cold temps quite comfortably. They are also durable as heck, due to the nature of the fabric. I wear them for everything until the temps are well below freezing.

Good whipcord can be expensive, but if you hunt around you can find some good deals. The "Big C" had a good deal on some a while back, and I've been surprised at how good they've turned out to be.

My pullover is supposed to arrive this week and I got some of the aforementioned Legacy pants last week (they were having a sale online; you might check to see if it is still going on), so that's what I'll be wearing together come this weekend.

Previously, I wore multiple layers of merino wool (and will continue to do so as base layers) with the ASAT leafy jacket on top and then some ASAT BDUs or military camo BDUs over base layers on my legs.  I do a lot of stalking, so I'm looking forward to hunting in the wool pants given how loud cotton and especially ripstop material can be at times (especially when cold).

Mossy Oak camo BDUs, Silent Predator wool, or blue jeans. All 3 three work. It just depends on my mood and weather.

I like $3.00 garage sale green wool.
