Good reading if you like The Wichery of Archery but a little surprised by the last chapter.

Thompson published some 25 books and 900 or so articles/poems/other.  He wrote to entertain an audience.  Much of his stuff is fiction, others with actual events as basis of the article and many comprised of several different experiences.  

I suspect "Confessions of an Ancient Poacher" has some fact and much fiction, designed to entertain, which it does.     I would take none of his articles as "gospel."
